John Misinco has been active with newspapers since his middle school years at Broughal in Bethlehem. He continued during his high school years at Liberty, then at Lehigh University, where he served as editor-in-chief for The Brown and White.

“News has always been exciting for me,” Misinco said.

Misinco, 41, will take over as editor of The Morning Call after leading the paper’s digital operations for the last 10 years. For the last two of those years, he has also served as regional digital editor for MediaNews Group’s Pennsylvania/New Jersey region.

“Having grown up in the Lehigh Valley, I’ve been reading the paper since I was a kid,” Misinco said. “To now be in charge of it is an honor. It’s also an incredible responsibility that I take very seriously to make sure we’re serving the community, and that we continue to stay a viable, relevant news organization. That’s not an easy task in this day and age with all the challenges we face.”
