The GroundTruth Project has announced the appointments of Dinesh Balliah, the director of the Wits Centre for Journalism at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, and Anya Schiffrin, the director of the Technology, Media, and Communications specialization at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, to its board of directors.

Scripps hires former Spectrum News 1 newsroom leader as station manager of KXXV/KRHD in Waco, Texas

The E.W. Scripps Company has hired Justin Burton as the station manager for KXXV/KRHD, the Scripps-owned ABC affiliates in Waco, Texas, effective June 10. As station manager, he will lead day-to-day operations and serve as news director.    

Houston Chronicle names Fernando Alfonso managing editor of news and content development

Fernando Alfonso III will oversee the daily news teams, metro, sports, business, government and education. He’ll be part of the senior leadership team for the newsroom.
