The WNET Group, home of WLIW-FM, Long Island’s only NPR station, announced its acquisition of Montauk radio station WEER 88.7 FM, and relaunching it as an extension of WLIW-FM. WLIW-FM’s reach now extends across the East End of Long Island, Central and Western Suffolk, and into Southern Connecticut and Rhode Island.

“WLIW-FM has taken another step forward in our coverage and commitment to our community,” said Diane Masciale, vice president and general manager, WLIW. “In the weeks ahead, we’re also looking to deliver a new app that will allow audiences to easily take WLIW-FM wherever life takes them.”

This expanded audience will now have access to the quality programming and conversations they expect from public media, such as Heart of the East End, Long Island Morning Edition, All Things Considered, The Afternoon Ramble, and Friday Night Soul on weekdays, and Weekend Jamboree with Gene Casey, Broadway to Main Street, and Behind the Headlines on weekends — a dynamic programming schedule populating the airwaves with news you can trust and music listeners love.

Listen to WLIW-FM at 88.3 FM on the East End, 88.7 FM in Montauk, and 96.9 FM in Central and Western Suffolk, livestream at wliw.org/radio or radio streaming apps, or ask your smart speaker to play WLIW-FM. Visit wliw.org/radio to listen on-demand and to learn more about WLIW-FM.
